God gave us teeth on purpose, you know?
running around town with empty, eager pales
we were young monsters then & we would scream & shout
and we would eat candy until our teeth fell out.
God gave us teeth again; big, shinny & new
all so we could eat cake, laugh & smile.
we would scream, shout & keep them sparkly white
and we would brush our teeth every day & night.
Once more our teeth disappeared but with none to spare
so we stayed at home & filled the eager, empty pales
and with our gummy smiles we would scream & shout
that we still love each other even though our teeth fell out!
